Our Strategy

Offensive & Defensive Evaluation

Our team’s Offensive strategy is to direct the robot over to the Gizmo Packages, pick them up, flip them, and place them (Top Down) in the Gizmo Pack & Ship Center. The arm helps to pick up, and rotate the Gizmo Packages, so they can be placed down in the Gizmo Pack & Ship Center. Assuming this will take 90 seconds or longer, this is perfect because 90 seconds into the round, the data from the data port will be displayed.

After the robot has successfully placed all the Gizmo Packages into the Gizmo Pack & Ship Center the robot will then move the Mobile Recall Trailer to the MRT Docking station. After the data port lights come on, the spotter will then fill the Gadget Scanning Tube to its full capacity. While that is happening, the driver will direct the robot onto the Product Recall Center, centered beneath the Gadget Scanning Tube. At the exact moment the robot parks onto the Product Recall Center, the spotter will then release the Flow Control Valve.

After all the (8) pre-loaded Gadgets fall into the Dump Truck on the back of our robot, the driver will then guide the robot to the Gadget Pack & Ship Center. The Dump Truck helps to dump & carry the Gadgets over to the sorting tray in the Gadget Pack & Ship Center. When the back of the robot backs up against the Sorting Tray, the driver will open the door of the robot, and allow the Gadgets roll into the tray.  Then the spotter will sort the defective gadgets from the non-defective gadgets by placing the defective ones in the Mobile Recall Trailer, and the non-defective ones in the Gadget Packaging Tubes.

Once the spotter has placed the defective Gadgets into the Mobile Recall Trailer, the driver will guide the robot back to the Product Recall Center with the Mobile Recall Trailer. The arm is helpful in this situation, because it will grab the MRT, and pull it while moving. While the robot drives to the Product Recall Center, the spotter will sort the Non-Defective gadgets into the Gadget Packaging Tubes. (From this point forward, the Mobile Recall Trailer will NOT be used. The spotter will only put the color of the non-defective gadgets down the Gadget Scanning Tube.)

Next the driver will position the robot below the Gadget Scanning Tube, and wait for the spotter to load the non-defective color gadgets. The gadgets will then roll down the gadget scanning tube and into the dump truck on the robot. The spotter will continue to load Gadgets down the Gadget Scanning Tube until the Dump Truck reaches its full capacity.  After it reaches its full capacity, the driver will direct the Robot back to the Sorting Tray, and dump the gadgets. The Spotter will then sort the Gadgets into the Gadget Packaging Tubes, and the robot will return to the Product Recall Center where it started.
