The following are a compilation of comments from the Judges:

  1. If you are using technology and interactive whiteboards in the presentation rooms, know how to hook up the equipment in advance.
  2. If you are using a laptop computer, have the computer turned on and on standby mode instead of booting it up for the first time during your set up time.
  3. Have the team members take turns answering questions and presenting. They shouldn’t all talk at the same time.
  4. It is very helpful if the coach is near or in the presentation room, this will help with any issues that the presentation team encounters.
  5. Please remind your parents, team members, and other coaches who are waiting outside the room to remain quiet and not knock on the door during the judging.
  6. Work on your team presentation skills. Remember to speak clearly and loud enough for the judges to hear.
  7. Give the judges a copy of your research notebook or project during set up. This will save some question time regarding the amount of research and the types of sources used.
  8. Make sure your presentation includes all required aspects in the FLL Presentation Judging Rubric. It should be more than an acted out report on the topic. The presentation should include a solution to the issue.
